Description

The sparkling town of Piran, squeezed on to a small peninsula stretching out to sea is a must to see with your own eyes from the top of the hill, while standing besides Piran’s Cathedral overlooking the town from above . A view that will take your breath away: the wonderful view of the sea and the Julian Alps in the distance.

Hear the tale of eternal love and devotion: between a Venetian merchant and his mistress.  The merchant fell in love with a local girl, built a beautiful 15th century house for her on the main square. Its Venitian-Gothic architecture is striking with its lovely Venetian balcony and windows. On ground level you will find a shop for sea salt produced in the bay. You must go in and take a look. You will learn about the salt production for the whole region.  The story of salt and its place in human history worldwide is worth listening to. And there is so much more to see and hear, you will love it.

Visiting Piran will make you feel like you are walking into a Museum. Open air sea breez and sun will accompaign you all the journey, through the narrow streets and secret corners of this beautiful seaside town.
