Ljubljana is located in Ljubljana basin, which lies in the centre of the country. To the south Ljubljana marshes is stretching and to the north Alps can be seen. There are two hills located just next to Ljubljana: Castle hill and Rožnik hill. Rožnik has been since 17th century a popular pilgrimage location, and is still today considered as a popular hiking destination.
The tour is perfect gateway for people who like nature and wishes to experience the pristine Ljubljana hiking tour. This tour is almost a traditional must do for young and old inhabitants of Ljubljana on sunny Sunday mornings. At the top of the Rožnik hill there is a restaurant where hikers can rest and enjoy some “potica” and tea. One of the reasons why Rožnik hill is so popular might be the proximity to the city centre and easy access, as people can simply start on Prešern squere and then continue their way via Čopova street all the way to Tivoli park. Tivoli is a beautiful park that was created after the defeat of Napoleon in the foothills of Rožnik. From there it is an easy climb to the top.
On the way back, guests will stop by the Tivoli mansion with its beautiful promenade that leads straight back to the city centre along well cultivated park.
